Some Common Healthy Activities to Slow Aging

Researchers in the field of gerontology support the positive effect of the following life activities on our health and aging.

  1. Since a high stress environment is dangerous to health and longevity, the practice of mental approaches to reduce stress are the cost effective and safe way to control stress, and have been proven effective for centuries.
  1. An active life — having a reason for living — can long life. We know that people who are young have eager, inquisitive minds. They are curious, always seeking and evaluating answers. They are willing to try something new – a new approach to a job, a new kind of music, a new response to a recurring situation.
  1. I leave out the sex hormone testosterone and aging that may be inappropriate for some …
  1. Good marriage and social life can prolong life. For example, married couples live longer than single people with an otherwise similar social life. These effects may be due in part to reduced stress as compared to lonely people.
  1. Mental exercises such as reading and crossword puzzles, and physical aerobic exercises for about 15 minutes, three times a week can go a long way towards preserving the body and mind. However, exertion can actually shorten lifespan. So the message is to do but do not overdo. Note: Between 1930-1960 the medical profession referred to vigorous exercise as a form of stress that would wear out the body. We know now that in contrast to machines which wear out with use, human organs and tissues develop an adaptive increase in function with use that runs counter to the changes which occurs in aging.
  1. Seven guidelines, some of which are familiar to us, have been suggested by various health experts to prolong life. These include no smoking, moderate weight, moderate drinking, physical activity , eating breakfast, regular meals, and sleeping seven or eight hours – but not less than six or more than nine.

In the overall conclusion, safe habits to prolong life include proper nutrition, a diet rich in fiber, and low in animal fat, sugar and refined foods. Certain aging theories suggest a possible role of vitamin E and C and foods rich in nuclearic acids as another nutritional aspect of long and healthy living. However, some of the ideas of the eastern world such as yogic breathing for vigor and vitality, postures to keep youthful body flexibility, and the effect of mind on our health and performance, are very important for healthy and youthful living. These ideas of the eastern world that are based on centuries of experience are certainly safe and effective as compared to the modern aging theories which are still in the exploration stage.

What Oldies Can Teach Us

Gray hair (or in some cases, no hair) does not seem to mean much in Western society. Age, experience, and wisdom are either not valued or not considered the province only of those who have lived long enough. It's like Ernest Hemingway observed, 'The error of youth is to believe that intelligence is a substitution for experience, while the error of age is to believe experience is a substitute for intelligence.

Since the 1960s people have talked about 'the generation gap', the difference in ideas, opinions, and behaviors that separates older from younger people. The divide may narrow or widen from time to time, but it's always there. Notwithstanding, there are some things that can be learnt only by living long enough, and one of those is wisdom: wisdom (should) come with age.

Consider these …

  1. Researchers at the Universities of Michigan and Texas evaluated the answers of people aged 25 to 93 to fictional reports of political disputes such as seeing other points of view, dealing with change, resolving conflict, and reaching a compromise. They found that older participants outperformed younger ones.
  2. A study, published in Psychology and Aging , found fluid intelligence may decline with age but found no definitive conclusion as to whether decision-making abilities sag. It seems that experience and accepted knowledge from a lifetime of decision making more than offset any declination ability to learn new information.
  3. A series of economic tests found the older group of 163 participants aged 60 to 82 were better than the 173 younger counterparts of 18 to 29. The older group exhibited greater patience and better financial understanding.

The average age of the world's population is rising, so it's important that society benefits from an aging population. For starters, how about trying to understand how older adults make decisions related to issues such as retirement finances and health care?

Anti-Aging – Which Part Of You Is Broken?

By the time we get to the point of our lives where anti-aging is of interest, most of us have some part of us that is broken.

For some it's there knees or hips or chronic back pain.

But one thing the majority of people would like to fix is their head. Or more specifically their thoughts and feelings.

Because aging is very much a mental issue, having our brains fixed should be of interest to most.

Anti-aging is sold in a jar at the beauty counter, we can get knee and hip replacements, and painkillers are sold over the counter.

But as far as I can tell from my 35 years in the wellness industry, there is little to change our mental and emotional view of life.

Sure anti-depressants and ADD medications are doled out like candy, but the solid research supporting their beneficial use is very thin.

So where does this leave us if we want to live a long health and happy life. I very much rate happiness as an anti-aging requirement, because if we are chronically unhappy or grumpy or sad, then that is just stressful.

And stress hormones cause infection, which causes pain, which makes us more miserable and we feel just plain old.

It can be helpful to receive counseling or emotional support, and you can be taught how to self regulate your mind, but it is 100% up to you to apply what you learn.

In order to apply what you learn you need to see the value, and you need to believe there will be a tangible benefit to you.

So how would you go about changing how your mind works?

Firstly you need to supply your mind with the right physical needs.

  1. Water, cheap and necessary.
  2. Quality fats for the cell membranes of your brain.
  3. Adequate protein to provide amino acids which are the building blocks for your cells.
  4. A full complement of vitamins and minerals from a good diet and supplements.

Secondly removing things to assist your physical needs.

  1. Sugar, grains and processed foods to control the fuel to your brain.
  2. Processed vegetable oils to ensure your infection is low and your cells are pliable and healthy.
  3. As many environmental toxins from your home office and car. Replace all commercial personal and cleaning products with natural alternatives.

Thirdly control what you can control personally.

Apart from those listed above, there is one thing, which we do automatically, but we can control our breathing.

Consciously slowing and controlling your breath will change how you feel, this happens for everyone, if they take a few minutes two or three times a day to do it.

Lastly conscious techniques.

There are many options such as various forms of meditation, yoga, Tai Chi, Qigong plus more active methods like the Sedona method, Emotional Freedom Technique or EMDR.

The Vibrant health Way offers a comprehensive approach to anti-aging if you choose to adopt the principals.

Ensure Good Result With Colloidal Silver MSM Cream for Acne

The most irritating problem every teenager faces is acne. The physiological changes during the transition between puberty and adolescent period cause the formation of acne. In some cases, the pores in the skin get blocked due to the deposition of sebum which causes the formation of acne.

Every individual sufferers this condition and the duration and intensity varies from person to person. In order to handle this situation so that the extreme cases do to leave the face scarred and uneven, it is better to use certain topical formulations prepared after years of research.

Benefits of Colloidal Silver

Acne is caused when the flow of sebum is not proper. The secretion from the sebaceous glands is necessary in order to maintain hydrated and healthy hair and skin. The walls of the follicles tend to stick together and block the path from where the oil should have been released. If the follicles are closed then bacteria infest this accumulation of sebum and cause infection. Colloidal silver is known for its anti-microbial action. Most of the Anti-aging creams use it as the main component to fight infection caused by microorganisms and stop the formation of acne.

The suspended micronized silver in de-mineralized water is a great way to tackle microbial infection topically. The silver kills the infection causing agents to a considerable extent. In fact, the rate of eradication is quite high which ensures that the growth of the causative agent will be stopped with regular application. The medicinal preparations are all topical and it is recommended to use them along with soaps, lotions, or face-wash.

The broad spectrum action of the colloidal silver not only fights with the bacterium producing acne but also eradicates other infection causing agents like fungi and virus. The bacteria staying over the skin are harmless but when they get inside the blocked sebaceous gland, they cause redness and inflammation. The use of colloidal silver will stop further acne formation and cures the existing ones.

Benefits of MSM

Methyl-sulfonyl-methane, also known as MSM, is an active ingredient in many anti-aging creams which fights with the causes of acne formation. The acne may be occurring due to various physiological changes. The topical applications take care of the external reasons properly. MSM is made of methane, sulfur, and oxygen. It typically exists in the skin, joints, and nails of human beings. It is used to treat osteoarthritis and possesses anti-inflammatory effects.

The reason why MSM is used as an active ingredient in the topical applications to fight acne formation is because of its anti-inflammatory action. It has the capability of eradicating the bacteria that form infection in the blocked sebaceous glands and cause acne formation. The antimicrobial action of this natural compound is due to the presence of sulfur (34%) in MSM molecule.

MSM also provides a strong infrastructure to build antioxidants that fight aging and inflammation consequently. In order to get clear and young skin, the topical applications use MSM as an ingredient with Colloidal Silver. Both the components fight against the bacterial outgrowth and stop acne formation. In fact, the skin becomes clear and glows due to the absence of blackheads, blemishes, scars, inflammation, etc.

Advantages of MSM and Colloidal Silver

When both the components are added to form a single formulation then the results are noticeable. No matter what the reason is behind acne formation in an individual, good result with Colloidal silver MSM cream for acne can be observed when it is used on a regular basis maintaining other precautions.

The advantages of bringing the two miracles together are:

Colloidal silver imparts its antimicrobial action in cooperation with the anti-inflammatory effects of MSM. The double action confirms correct eradication of the bacterial outgrowth in the sebaceous gland. Moreover, the dispersion of the ingredients in micronized version ensures proper absorption of the active components inside the bacterial colony to destroy them. The formulation provides a broader spectrum to stop a wide range of bacterial infection on the skin.

The modern skin care products are dispensed in Aloe Vera gel base so that the effect is more soothing and effective.

Colloidal silver and MSM has been used in the history of medical science to cure many infections. Ensure good result with Colloidal silver MSM cream for acne after regular application under medical guidance.

Facial Fillers With High & Low G Prime Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are gels or compounds which get injected into the face to fill in creases, folds, and deep wrinkles, volumise an aging face, and lift the cheeks. We rate fillers for viscosity and elasticity, which is also called G Prime. Fillers with high G Prime offer a better structure than fillers with low G Prime, and the higher the G Prime in the filler, the better the lift, as it's firmer and bids to keep its shape.

The viscosity in fillers, relates to the flow and how spreadable the filler is. The thicker the filler, the better it keeps its shape, while a thinner filler will be more fluid. The G Prime or elasticity, describes how the filler retains its shape against facial movements, like when you're smiling and frowning.

There are many different types of fillers on the market. Some fillers are thick and firm, and some are softer and more runny. Things that distinguish injectable fillers include; the elasticity and how well the material sticks together, the G prime and its ability to with gravity and facial movements and how well the filler spreads.

Dermal fillers used at for facial injections are hyaluronic acid based or calcium hydroxylapatite fillers such as;

Restylane range

Juvederm Ultra

Radiesse which is a calcium hydroxylapatite based filler.

Teosyal Kiss

Hyaluronic acid is the most common type of filler used in cosmetic treatments, and it's also a substance that's found naturally in our bodies. Babies have lots of hyaluronic acid and this is why they have plump, round checks. As we grow old, we lose volume in our face, causing the cheeks to deflate and excess skin to fall towards the jaw line, giving us sagging jowls and wrinkles. If you imagine your face is a balloon that's being slowly deflated, well, dermal fillers can help to re-inflate it.

A higher G Prime means a higher degree of thickness, and the thicker fillers are able to give more lift. Fillers with lower G Primes are softer and spread through the tissues easier and they move better within the face.

For nasolabial folds, adding definition to the chin and cheek enhancement; a filler with a high G Prime is a better choice to lift and contour, because it can lift and support the skin and surrounding structures. A lower G Prime has thinner flowing gel and is better suited for areas near the eyes and the lips, because it's more fluid.

Thicker dermal fillers with high G Prime help to restore the skin, giving it the underlying structural support that it lacks, while thinner G Prime fillers are best for smoothing and softening, and not supporting.

Do you feel like pulling, or lifting your skin when you look in the mirror? If yes, then it's time to do something about your sagging skin problem.

Let's take a look at these 6 ways that can help you to deal with your sagging problem.

When you sleep, gravity and your cushions are at work against your face. Also, you may have seen a few lines in the morning, which are caused by pillows. Also, wear a hat whenever you roam outside!

3. Nonsurgical Skin Tightening

Due to the advancement in laser technology, skin can be fixed utilizing heating directed by the lasers. This heat helps in the production of collagen. Since generation of collagen is related with age, young patients react better to the laser procedures. A person in their late 50's with significant facial sagging because of loss of fat and collagen would achieve better outcomes from a cosmetic surgery.

4. Topical Treatments

Treats like skin polishing, fat grafting and chemical peels can work wonders for your skin and make you look a lot younger than before. The sagging problem can also be reduced effectively with the help of these cosmetic procedures.

5. Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers smooth away wrinkles, reduce sagging of the skin, reshape facial contours, add volume or enhance the lips. Innovative dermal fillers are designed to revitalize your skin and expression, and give back a look of youth and freshness.

6. Botox Surgery

Botox is a drug made from a toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. Botox injections are the best known for their power to temporarily paralyze muscle activity. Even just 1 Botox injection can make a person look years younger. Botox surgery is a simple, non-surgical approach to treat skin sagging, frown lines, deep wrinkles and fine lines found on your face. Aging At The Speed Of Your Brain

So much of our behavior is dictated by our thoughts, and aging is no different. How do you think effects how we feel, and this influences how we move physically and how we interact in this world.

We all know the 80 year old who is young at heart, and the 50 year old who is mentally ready for the retirement home.

My dad was an active cyclist until leukemia took him at 83. Even right up until his diagnosis he pressed on doing his 50 km per day.

I used to laugh when he complained about some of the old riders, those in their 60's who could not keep up. When Dad was in hospital I asked him what had driven him to cycle for decades, and he simply said he loved it.

His passion for cycling kept him young physically and mentally, some of the women cyclists joked he had the best legs in the cycle group.

I'm now sixty and my passion is martial arts. I train daily and also with 2 groups. I train hard and it hurts later, but I love it, and when I train with a young 30 or 40 year old I feel just the same.

Aging is every bit a mental game as a physical game. If you mentally feel old then why would you exercise, why would you eat well, and why would you make the effort to go out and have fun or meet people.

Beware of labels, such as old, or decrepit, or aging, because words are very powerful, and they can help you or harm you.

A university study had two groups walk down a corridor and go into separate rooms. One group read a short story about youth and spring and happiness, the other group read a story about old age and winter and sadness.

The two groups left the building. The test was to measure how long each person took to walk into the building, and then how long to walk out.

The happy youthful story group walked out faster than the sad old story group who slowed down. This is a great example of the power of words to influence our physical actions. So I wonder what words do you use to describe your age, or your energy or your health? And while you can delete some words from your mind and add in some others which will keep you young.

Anti-Aging – Healing & Junk Food

Any time your body is trying to heal itself, it needs the very best circumstances possible. Clean air, safe safe, dry housing, clean water and good nutrition.

Healing with a junk food diet is very difficult. It's like trying to do it in a dirty environment. Most healing requires some inflammation as part of the process but a junk diet will create too much inflammation leading to prolonged infections.

Sinus and lung problems are typical of this kind of junk food healing delay. These problems often just tick along with occasional flare-ups, all the while robbing you of your energy and wellness.

To heal we need to activate our immune systems, and this means in part creating white blood cells.

To build these cells you need the right mix of amino acids from good protein sources?

To convert your protein into absorbable amino acids you need good levels of hydrochloric acid in your stomach and pancreatic enzymes in your small intestine.

You also need a healthy lining in your gut for digestion, and for this you need to avoid junk foods rich in sugar and omega 6 oils.

Put simply you can not heal properly while consuming junk foods. By junk, I include all processed foods, and grains, which con vert to sugar very quickly and processed vegetable oils, which seriously disrupted the natural pharmaceutical production located in the endothelium in the lining in your blood vessels.

There is some wisdom in the chicken soup remedy for colds and flus. Most of the old remedies made sense, lemons, plenty of fluids, honey, avoiding dairy and mucus forming foods and getting plenty of rest.

Even heavy smokers can stop when they have a cold. Then as if by magic their nicotine cravings come back when they get better.

But this calls into question the wisdom of the high sugar foods typically served up in hospitals.

To heal you need foods and drinks, which are good sources of amino acids, healthy fats, vitamins, minerals, water, anti-oxidants and polyphenols.

The good news is that it is easy to get all of these you need by stopping the junk and embracing the natural health foods.

You do not need to be a health fanatic, in fact you can eat very well and it is not even noticeable to the outside world. Eating well at home is easy, dining out requires a little more effort but is doable. You can do if your health is really important to you.

Your Anti-Aging Bug Brain

In your quest to age better I would ask you to consider your gut a bit more carefully, or in the case of most of us, to become aware of our gut role in health and aging.

Here are a few gut facts.

  1. 60% of your blood proteins are manufactured in your gut by your healthy. Proteins are constructed from amino acids and form every cell in our bodies, including the skin cells on our faces, hands and arms where most of the expensive creams are applied.

So in order to maximize the benefits from your creams you need a health gut.

  1. Researchers state that as much as 90% of serotonin is made in the gut, which has been dubbed as the second brain. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter and is largely responsible for our emotional health. As part of an anti-aging program mental health is vital for us to feel energetic and enjoy life to the fullest possible.
  2. About 80% of your immune system tissue is in the gut. Again healthy bacteria are required to ensure a proper immune function.
  3. Your gut bacteria synthesize biotin, Vitamin B12, Folic acid and Thiamine, as well as Vitamin K for your blood. You can think of these vitamins being activated in the gut, but this works well only in a healthy gut.
  4. There are many other important activities in your gut bacteria including anti-pathogen, and enzyme production.

The bottom line is that ensure you are aging as successfully as possible, you need a well-tuned body, and for this to occur you need a healthy gut with happy healthy bacteria. So feed them with plenty of vegetables, especially those with lots of fiber and foods with polyphenols such as berries and coffee. Plus you can take pro-biotic capsules to boost your system.

You can protect your bacteria by using anti-biotics only when absolutely necessary, which means not for the common cold or flu. Avoid sugar which feeds the bad bacteria, and limit alcohol and junk food which stress your bacteria.

Stress itself is harmful on bacteria as it causes abnormal digestion tension and an increase of the stress hormone cortisol.

When your gut is out of balance you will feel tired sluggish and sick. You may still feel young at heart but your body will be just dragging itself around. Your skin will lack a healthy glow and all the rejuvenating creams and spa treatments in the world will not help very much.

Eat well, exercise, relax and take only short periods of sun on your skin each day.

Why Aging Is Like Superannuation

When you are 20 years old you are most likely quite uninterested in superannuation or anti-aging.

And even if you have some interest you only need to make small deposits into your super fund or health account to reap significant benefits in the distant future.

But let's say you are 50 years old and you do not have any super. Then you will need to make large deposits to have a decent retirement.

Equally if you are 50 and you have not cared for yourself as well as you could have then you will need to make big changes in order to be healthy enough to enjoy your retirement.

I recently turned 60 and even though I pride myself on being fit and health, partly because it's my job to do so, I realized I needed to make a few more changes. My goal is to be fit and well at 70 as I am at 60.

When I was 20 I could easily devour a family size pizza, now 2 or 3 pieces is enough volume wise, but now I choose not to eat pizza at all, because there is not a single morsel of it that will be me any good at all.

Even though I consider myself to be very healthy I know for a fact that my body can not process the foods a twenty something can and expect to remain well. Sugars, omega 6 industrial oils, junk food and more than a moderate serve of alcohol is going to hit me hard.

Driving inflammation, circulation problems, stressing my joints and organs, disabling my cells and damaging my mitochondria and theby reducing my energy.

All of this from eating food which in real terms is just junk. Of course if I eat like that I will not have the energy to exercise and the couch will become my friend. Plus my mind will be dull and I will certainly increase my chances of Alzheimer's disease and dementia.

The bad news is that you can not turn back time, but the good news is that you can slow the aging process, how much is the question. It will depend on how badly you have appreciated your body and how willing you are to support it.

If you want a good future you will need both money and health, that is the stark reality of life in the world we live in.

How To Exfoliate Your Face To Make It Look Younger Naturally

If you are one of those people who are always on the lookout for good easy beauty tips then this article is the right one for you to learn from and get a ton of different ideas. The abrupt change from one season to the next takes its toll on your skin and if you intend to keep it smooth and glowing then remove that make-up completely every night.

Remove make-up and cleanse your face with your regular cleanser. You need to have a fresh, clean face so that the exfoliation treatment which you apply may properly penetrate the skin.

Make sure to open your pores. If you wash your face in the shower, you've already finished this step thanks to the steam from the hot water. If you washed your face over the sink, you want to make sure your pores have a chance to relax and open before you try to get the sludge out. Grab one of your washcloths and rinse it under the warmest water you can; wring it out a bit so it's not dripping wet, tilt your head back and lay the washcloth across your entire face. Leave it there for a few minutes, then remove and wring it out. Her are some pointers you are going to need.

Our face can be considered as the most important part of our body. Not to ignore other parts, but people will easily recognize us from our face, will not they? So it's necessary for us to keep our face in the best and healthiest condition so that we can maintain an impressive appearance, especially when you're working with the public.

In order to do so, we need to do some special treatments. We can not apply the same common treatment that we do to other parts of our body to our face. Why not, because the face has a much thinner layer of skin so we need to be careful, otherwise, we may damage it.

There are a number of things you can do to make your face look younger naturally which are easy to include in your daily routine. One of the most important things to know when it comes to keeping that childlike glow on your skin is exfoliation. These methods I am about to reveal will also boost your overall health and future well-being.

Steps To Exfoliate Your Face

Exfoliation is a process that removes dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. This dead skin can cause clogged pores and aging skin. Without proper exfoliation, moisturizer will not soak in properly and foundation will not appear smooth. Here are my best exfoliating tips for the face.

Gather all the supplies you will need. Whether you choose to exfoliate while bathing or over the sink in the morning (morning is the best time to scrub up, since the skin heals itself overnight.) You'll need the same basic items. Find a face scrub that is specifically formulated for your delicate skin and does not contain large scrub beads. Natural and organic products are the best option as they are gentler. In addition you will need a soft washcloth or two. Never use a loofah to scrub your face because it is too harsh.

Here are the proper steps to take when sloughing off dead skin cells. Remember, you should only be exfoliating about once per week in order to avoid over-scrubbing. Begin at your chin and move upwards toward your forehead, gently massage the scrub into your skin in a circular motion. Apply evenly all over your face and let it rest for a few minutes.

Premium fish oils can also make your face look younger by moisturizing from the inside out, and maintaining the correct pH balance and moisture content.

The best ones contain added antioxidants like lycopene from tomato oil and astaxanthin from algae. They are proven to reverse the effect of sun damage on your skin, fading wrinkles and lines while increasing thickness and firmness.

Use these steps to restore your youthful glow and start to look as young on the outside as you feel on the inside once again.

Is There A Magic Number?

What do these three things have in common?

  • Cricket
  • Two pizzas
  • Soccer

The answer is eleven .

Cricket and Soccer teams each have eleven players (eleven is considered to be the ideal number enabling one person, presumably the captain, to be in charge). Jeff Bezos, of Amazon fame, insists that two pizzas have been applied to all meetings at Amazon. His two pizza 'rule' derives from the number of adults generally required to consume two pizzas – about eleven.

Think about a dinner party or barbeque you've attended where the number exceeded the magic number. It's particularly that groups formed and fragmented resulting in no central conversation. The challenge for the host surpassing the eleven-limit means more work for him and / or her – meeting and greeting, entertaining, making sure their guests have enough to eat, and so on. And if you're a guest, and the group exceed the magic number, you may not get to see the host as much, or as often, as you may have hoped.

This need not mean that exceeding the magic number eleven should be avoided. Be aware, however, if you're the host it will involve more work on your part.

We're told that one of the many pluses about ageing is the extra time for getting involved in social events – dinner parties, barbeques, community get-togethers. Whether or not this is the case is not the main issue. If your social calendar fills as you age, you need to be aware of the importance of numbers in attendance: eleven is the magic number.

So, one of your many tasks when planning an event is to know how many people to invite. And if you're asked to serve on a committee which exceeds eleven, declare gracefully or at least curb your enthusiasm for getting value for your time and energy.

Achieve A Younger Looking Wrinkle Free Face By Using Botox Treatment

The face, neck, arms and hands are all areas where the skin is constantly exposed to the elements, and as such, are more likely to become wrinkled. Most wrinkles are the result of aging and each year thousands of people turn to botox, with treatment to the face, creases on the forehead, smile lines, crows feet and the deep furrows between the eyebrows being the most popular areas.

Botox treatments are a safe and effective way to reduce and smooth out wrinkles. Worry lines across the forehead and the vertical lines between the eyebrows form when we express ourselves, and over time, because of repeated smiling and frowning movements, dynamic facial lines and wrinkles beginning to develop. Botox helps to soften the look of these facial fine lines and wrinkles.

Botox is now one of the most common cosmetic treatments in the UK, and a good practitioner will perform botox treatments to give a soft natural look to your face, and customize each botox treatment specifically for you. The results can look stunning, and yet remain minor.

A fully trained cosmetic practitioner can perform careful, exact injections, to give your face a fresh, healthy and subtle appearance and not a startled and expressionless look. Botox gets injected using a disposable syringe which has a very fine needle and we inject tiny amounts of botox very strictly into certain specific areas on the face, chosen by carefully examining the movements of your facial muscles. The treatment is almost painless and does not need any anaesthetic.

A botox injection lessens the muscle activity that causes wrinkles to form on the face. It blocks the signals from the nerves to the muscles, relaxing and softening the muscles in the problem area. Laughing, smiling, frowning and worrying can all add to the beginnings of fine lines and wrinkles.

The botox injections usually take no more than ten minutes. Gaining results from botox is a gradual process as it takes around twenty-four hours to beginning taking effect and up to two weeks for the full effect to show. The results can last from three to five months and we recommend repeat treatments three to four times a year.

Botox has many benefits:

  • Wrinkles and lines get smoothed out, giving a more youthful appearance
  • Prevention of further wrinkles by relaxing the muscles
  • It's a non-invasive, quick treatment with minimal discomfort

Practitioners will attempt to keep the botox injection experience gentle and pain-free, and the practitioner will put you at ease and support you through the experience.
