Discover the New Face of Longevity: Unlock Level 12.0

You know that rush you get when you've achieved the next level in “Clash of Clans,” or unlocked a new level by playing a mystery quest in “Candy Crush”? You strut, you tweet, you pat yourself vigorously on the back, you make sure everyone knows your new status in Clan or Crush life, and off you go, to use your newly acquired wisdom and strategies in getting to the next level.

Because yes, there's always a next level – and is not that the real fun of the game?

So when my girlfriend unexpectedly proudly the other day that she had achieved level 7.0, without even knowing what was the game she'd mastered, I duly applauded and cheered. And then asked, “Uh, sorry, but I've temporarily forgotten-what was the game you were playing?” “Oh!” she replied, grinning from ear to ear, “I turned 70 today!”

As in 70 years old. Wow! What an utterly fabulous attitude. Instead of viewing her years lived as the clock ticking towards her inevitable decline, my friend saw her decades as experience gained in the game of life. As increased wisdom, knowledge, strategies developed for even more thrilling adventures ahead. As new friendships formed, relationships deepened, appreciation increased for the experiences still to come. Another level accomplished. Yay!

Why would we limit our enthusiasm for levels achieved to those we master on our smartphones? Why not, like my friend, see every year as affording us a new level of prowess, readying us for whatever life offers us next?

Instead of bemoaning the fact that by 30, you're old news and you'd better start lying about your age, that 40 years old is “over the hill,” that 50 means you'll start behaving like your parents, and anything over 60 (shudder) is the land of wrinkles, saggy butts and goodbye love life – get in the game!

The FDA recently approved the human clinical trials of metformin as an anti-aging drug, which could prolong life until 120 years. We're going to need a whole lot of great life-strategies, skills and understandings if we're to achieve level 12.0 with joy and enthusiasm. It will be as impossible to get there with our current way of looking at our later years, as it would be to get to level 200 in “Clash of Clans” with what got you to level 50.

Science is already showing us how a positive view of aging may protect against Alzheimer's disease, and as the research progresses, I have no doubt that those who bravely go where few have gone into the land of “I'm getting older-Yippee! ” will find such an attitude entirely to their benefit.

Indeed, the research already shows that attitudes you hold in your younger years impact how you yourself experience age: 40 year olds who believed that “older people are absent-minded” or “older people have trouble learning new things,” were more likely to develop marketers of Alzheimer's disease as they got into their late 60s. What you think is what you get.

You do not have to go that route. You can, whatever your current age, look around you at the fantastic folks in their 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond. My girlfriend is a stunning example: she's vibrant, excited about life, loves her work (yes, she works full time), loves her family. What more needs to be said? Every day I come across posts that celebrate the achievements of yet another 80 or 90 or 100 year old. Let their lives inspire you to a very different appreciation for long life, change your perception of what it's like to be 80, 90 and beyond.

Because, let's face it-you hardly want to creep and groan your way to 120. To laugh and dance your way is a lot more fun.

10 Ways To Boost Your Cognitive Fitness

Cognitive fitness is a hot topic these days. We expect that seemingly inevitable declination in our physical and mental function. At the same time we're looking for that one solution, that magic pill or potion, that will help us maintain our abilities in both areas.

Well, there's no magic to it. In both areas, take good care of it, and use it or lose it.

Here are 10 things to help you maintain, or even improve your cognitive fitness.

  1. Exercise – Research has shown again and again that physical activity is good for your brain as well as your body. Exercise can increase the level of certain hormones that are important for cognitive functions like memory.
  2. Brain Training Games – There are many brain training games, all aimed at improving cognitive ability. Puzzle solving is important for the brain, and if done regularly, can improve cognitive function. Brain training games can help delay to onset of diseases like Alzheimer's.
  3. Music – Yes, music soothes the savage beast, and it can help to improve cognitive function. It's even more effective when combined with exercise.
  4. Sleep – Sleep is essential for many bodily functions. If you want to improve your cognitive ability, you need a good nights' sleep.
  5. Manage Stress – There is good stress and bad stress. Many of us suffer from too much of the bad stress. It exhausts us. Our cognitive abilities suffer. It's a part of life. We can not get rid of it altogether, so we need to learn to manage it.
  6. Be More Sociable – We are sociable creatures. We need social interaction to function effectively, physically and cognitively. Being more sociable and having more relationships can help to prevent a decline in memory.
  7. Eat More Brain Friendly Foods – We know the importance of a healthy diet for our waistlines and overall health. Some foods are more beneficial, and others less so, when it comes to our cognitive health. Say yes to fish, fruit, vegetables, and green tea. Cut out the saturated fats.
  8. Doodling – Does doodling seem like a waste of time? Maybe you think it's childish. But, guess what? Doodling keeps your brain stimulated and active when it else may not be. Again, use it or lose it.
  9. Take Up A New Hobby – Just the thought of a new activity is beneficial for your cognitive fitness. When you actually start doing the activity, your brain will be forced to make new connections. That can actually improve your cognitive abilities.
  10. Enjoy A Little Caffeine – Maybe you've heard only negative things about coffee. Too much of anything can be bad. But, caffeine causes a temporary boost in cognitive performance. It can help you focus and perform when needed.

How To Live Longer, Better, For Free

What if I could tell you how to add years to your life and that it would not cost you a cent. Would you want to know? I'm not kidding, there is such a quality. It's called ATTITUDE – positive mental attitude.

The multiple benefits of a positive mental attitude have been the focus of many of history's greats. William James summed-up most of what we know about attitude when he said, 'The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by altering their attitudes'.

The good news is that having and maintaining a positive attitude is dead-set simple.

Viktor Frankl came up with his 'theory' on the importance of a positive attitude as a result of four years of slave labor in Nazi death camps (his wife and parents died in the Holocaust). After liberation by American troops, Frankl wrote an account of how his camp experience shaped his philosophy and psychotherapy. More than 10 years later, the book was published in America as Man's Search for Meaning (its original German title was, Neverheless , Say 'Yes' to Life: A Psychologist Experiences the Concentration Camp ). The book has become a classic.

Frankl maintained that, even when a person is stripped of everything – health, dignity, safety, hope for rescue – they're still left with the capacity to fulfill a yearning for meaning, which naturally imposes finding something to feel positive about. The opposite is also true, finding something to feel positive about gives life meaning.

A basic tenet of his therapy (he called it 'logotherapy') is that even when we think we have lost all control over our lives, as a prisoner does in the extreme, we can control our attitude towards life. His conclusion and advice? 'Live as if you were living a second time, and as though you had already wronged the first time'.

Frankl's critics found his theory simplistic – more like a pop, feel-good guru than a serious theoretician, they claimed. (Some people, it seems, will never be satisfied.)

If you'd like a free copy of a topic detailing the essential how-to information – 'How to Develop a Positive Mental Attitude' – just tell me and a copy will be with you, pronto. A positive attitude has many advantages. One of those is that one day when your life flashes before your eyes, what you'll see will be worth watching.

What’s The Use Of Worrying?

When we were writing our bestsellers Just About Everything a Manager Needs to Know , The Management Bible , and Management Essentials , we searched many areas. In one instance, we found that more than 80% of things people worried about, they have little or no control over: they could not do anything to influence the income or it did not happen. It was as Michel de Montaigne noted, 'My life has been full of terrible misfortunes most of which never happened'.

It seems that even though people know worry is a health hazard, accelerates aging, and makes their paintwork show signs of wear 'n' tear, they still do it. As Shakespeare's Hamlet observed, 'There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so'.

Recommended change has been around for more than 2,000 years. Epictetus, for example, told us that it's not what happens to us but what we do about it that matters most: response matters most.

I could advise not to worry, but instead, how about responding differently during these three everyday life situations.

  1. When the world sees black and there does not seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel, ask yourself what's the absolute worst that could happen? Considering a worst-case scenario can help to make a molehill out of a mountain.
  2. When something happens over which you have no control, never let it upset you: remain calm. Traffic delays, tossing tantrums at others for their traffic breaks, or standing in a queue, are just some examples. Knowing yourself to become upset by stuff over which you have limited or no control is a waste of energy.
  3. When someone behaves in a particular way or something happens that does not match your expectations, ask yourself who really owns the problem? Having expectations is normal, but realize that the problem could be your expectation.

If you've lived long enough, you'll know that worrying is a waste of time and energy. Rarely are things as bad as at first thought. One hundred and fifty years ago William James said, 'If you believe that feeling bad or worried long enough will change the past or future events, then you are staying on another planet'.

Anti Aging Serums Can Make A Good Market

Feeling young and looking young all the time is certainly the dream of every one. Of course, all of us want to remain young forever. Although this is impossible, nothing can stop us from going after that “fountain of youth.”

Growing old, both physically and emotionally, is inescapable. All of us will have to face the challenges of aging, particularly the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines in our face. Wrinkles and laugh lines are synonymous to aging, and you will really have them whether you like it or not. The question is, are you happy with it?

Will you openly accept those lines and curves sketched on your forehead? You can leave these wrinkles as it is, or do something to completely erase them without a trace. The choice is yours. But is not it great if you hear your friends say you look very much younger than your age?

Some words of complement from other people can boost your confidence. This is exactly the reason why some people are willing to spend hundreds of bucks just to make their skin look young, fresh, soft and smooth. And this is the reason also why dozens of companies have invested millions of money to come up with products that can reverse all the signs of aging. Anti aging products are available everywhere. They come in serums, creams and other varieties, and in different consistencies. Some are packaged in small containers. Some in bigger ones. Others are specially designed for consumers who have sensitive skin.

But there are also those that are recommended for all skin types. The only way for you to know if you bought the correct anti aging product is to know your skin type to make sure this will not give any side effect. Anti aging products contain active ingredients that have been clinically tested to ensure their effectiveness. These products undergo rigid testing and trials before they are released to the market so you are assured that side effects are farfetched. But if in case they occur, it should not be serious, or else the company will face legal suits for producing products that are harmful.

Before buying any anti aging product, you should know first what the active ingredients to look for. For one, the product should contain antioxidants, which work to fight the damage caused by free radicals or substances that contribute to premature aging such as pollution, chemicals, smoke and sunlight. Antioxidants repair the damage made by free radicals by encouraging cell growth.

Among the most popular antioxidants are vitamins A (retinol), C (ascorbic acid) and E, green tea, coffee berry extracts and pomegranate. In particular, retinol is very effective in erasing wrinkles and improving the overall texture of the skin. Other ingredients to look for in anti aging products are alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) and hyaluronic acid.

Alpha hydroxy acids are effective exfoliant as it washed away dead skin cells. It also helps lighten brown spots and blemishes. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant that helps moisturize the skin. So when looking for the best and the most effective anti aging product, check for these ingredients.

5 Characteristics Of People Who Are Aging Well

No one is immune from getting older. So we might as well enjoy life while we can, with good health and happiness. And, like my father always says, “It's better than the alternative.”

For many of us the biggest problem with aging is the negative impact it can have on our quality of life. We just can not do the things we were able to do when we were younger.

Many see this as an obstacle too big to conquer and they give up. Some spend the rest of their days watching television, struggling up the stairs, and taking three naps a day. They're “too tired” to do anything else. What other option do they have? After all, aging is a natural process. It gets the better of everyone ever. You just have to suck it up, right?

Well, not necessarily.

Others prefer to tackle aging head on. They live for as long as they can with vitality, energy and good health. But how do they do that?

Let's take a look at 5 characteristics of those who are aging well …

1) They Still Try New Things

Okay, so you're getting a bit older. Perhaps you've passed 65. You've settled down. You do not want to try anything new. You've done it all. All you want to do is sit down and catch up on your TV shows. No one is supposed to bother you.

The thing is, your brain still loves new stuff. It does not stop growing unless you make it stop. And if you make it stop, it's going to bring aging crashing right down on you.

2) They Have Friends And See Them Often

Older people are more susceptible to loneliness than younger people. Our worlds grow inevitably smaller as we retire from work, stop driving, etc. This really does diminish the quality of life, because loneliness can cause both mental and physical problems.

Those who are aging well, though, know the importance of having friends and maintaining contact with them.

They have many types of social connections:

  • Partners
  • Best friends
  • Siblings
  • Bridge partners
  • Fellow church, temple or mosque goers
  • Yoga class members

And so on. These are not just “acquaintances” they see once in a blue moon. These are people they see regularly. They chat with them each week, invite them for coffee, and maybe even go on vacation with them.

3) They Stay Mentally Active

Using your mental faculties regularly is one of the keys to keeping you young in your mind. Older people who regularly complete puzzles, surf the Internet, and get creative through writing, art, sewing, or whatever else are aging well because they're keeping their brains active. As you get older, it's extremely important to look after your mind as well as your physical body.

4) They Know What Makes Them Happy

When we have no idea what makes us happy, we certainly can not pursue it. We end up living lives of stress, turmoil, and unhappiness. We're not satisfied. This takes its toll on our minds and bodies. It accelerates the aging process.

Older people who are aging well really have a better handle on the happiness thing. They know what makes them happy – and they're going to do it. They've learned to say “No” to people, and to focus on bringing positivity into their lives.

5 ) They Get Around

People who do not get out and about much are at greater risk of developing dementia, diabetes, heart disease, depression and more.

People who know how to age well get around a lot. They sweat it out at the gym, take up yoga classes, and walk everywhere. They have a healthy, well-balanced diet and maintain a stable weight.

Low Impact Exercise Ideas for Older Adults

Older adults, those of us over 50, (yes I'm including myself), know we can benefit from regular exercise. The rewards for older adults who stay physically active on a regular basis are numerous. The benefits are psychological, emotional, and social, as well as physical. Unfortunately our bodies are not as physically capable as they used to be.

That means we should consider low impact exercises in our fitness regimens. Listed below are several ideas for enjoying exercise as an older adult.

Join a Seniors Hiking Club

Joining a hiking club is an excellent way to enjoy the great outdoors while staying physically active at the same time. Thanks to the power of the Internet, finding a hiking club that caters to your specific age group is as simple as a few clicks of the mouse. And you will make more social connections, definitely a plus at any age, but even more important as we age.

Do Some Yard Work

Raking leaves, mowing the lawn, weeding your garden and planting flowers are all physically demanding activities. They're also low impact forms of exercise. Health experts recommend spending time outdoors each and every day, and handling some overlooked yard work is a great way to do exactly that.

Take the Stairs, Not the Elevator

This is a no-brainer, low impact exercise that older adults, and younger adults, too, frown upon. Whenever possible, hit the stairs instead of lazily raising the elevator. Your heart, mind and body will all benefit from this simple to perform but much avoided low impact physical activity.

Walk Instead of Driving

If you live 20 miles from your job, walking instead of driving obviously will not work. However, we human animals reach for the car keys far too frequently, and often just from habit. If your destination is less than 1 or 2 miles away, the weather is cooperating, and you're not rushed for time, why not walk? Enjoy the scenery while you benefit from this low impact activity. And, if it's sunny, you'll get some vitamin D.

Go For a Swim

Swimming is an excellent low impact exercise. It could also be considered “no impact” because of the buoyant properties of water. Many health professionals and personal trainers consider swimming to be the perfect exercise because it effectively reduces the stress, strain, and impact of traditional exercise.

Hit the Dance Floor

Who said said exercise had to be boring? Call your friends, grab your partner and head out for a night of dancing. Different types of music require higher and lower intensity dance moves, so you can cater your rug cutting evening to your particular fitness level.

Go Stand up Paddling

What exactly is an SUP? Why, a stand up paddleboard of course! Imagine a wider, longer surfboard that you stand on. That is exactly what a stand up paddleboard is. It promotes physical fitness from head to toe, since your body is constantly balancing as you stand on your board propelling yourself through the water with a long handled paddle.

These are just a few ideas. There are many more low impact exercises to check out. The important thing is to get active and stay that way on a regular basis. Your brain and body will be glad you did!

5 Action Ideas to Procure the Best Anti-Aging Skin Care Creams

Pollution, stress, hectic and unhealthy lifestyles as well as natural aging show their effects first on the skin. The skin starts to lose its elasticity, develops fine lines that turn into wrinkles and the pores enlarge. The skin is the largest organ of the body and is responsible for protecting as well as to remove toxins through sweat in addition to contributing to the looks. It is everyone's responsibility and duty to care for the skin. Changing lifestyles and a healthy, balanced diet is essential but it is equally important to consider topical applications to arrest effects of aging and restore skin to its pristine glory. Creams and gels are best, but which ones to use is the question that could perplex anyone wishing to arrest aging.

The market is flooded with dozens of creams that make some or other extravagant claims. Some are purely synthetic while some are a mix of synthetic and natural extracts. Natural creams are best, but not all such creams are equal. Anyone looking for the most effective and best wrinkle cream could keep in mind the following:

1. Avoid creams with a synthetic base containing paraben, silicones, mineral fillers, colors, preservatives, and colors. Even if these creams have natural herbal ingredients, the harmful synthetic chemicals used as base will cause more damage in the long run.

2. Anti-aging creams must be chosen to suit the type of condition one has. Some women and men may exhibit only mild signs while others may have skins that are blotched, heavily sagging and with large pores.

3. Young people with only the beginnings of the effects of aging on their skin do not need to go in for wrinkle creams with a large number of ingredients.

4. The most expensive creams for anti-aging are not necessarily the best. A manufacturer should offer a range of skin creams with a variety of compositions addressing various requirements and at varying price points.

5. For the natural ingredients to work, they must be present in sufficient concentrations. It is no secret that many manufacturers add only a minuscule amount of such active ingredients. If one really wants creams that work, one must check for the amount or concentration of the active ingredients in each formulation as indicators of their efficiency.

With these points in mind, it should not be difficult to shortlist the manufacturers of anti-aging products and their range of specific items that will give the best value for money and show results in a month.

We've all heard the many benefits of healthy eating in terms of maintaining our physical health, but did you know that some foods actually have anti-aging properties? Research has shown that we really are what we eat. So if we're serious about wanting to reduce the effects of aging, then our diets need to include certain foods.

Fish is important in many body functions, and can help us here. Fish contains omega 3s, critically linked to reducing heart disease and clogged arteries. Anything that keeps your blood flowing and your heart healthy is definitely a good thing.

Chocolate

Chocolate may not seem like your typical food recommendation. After all, it is candy. And most types of chocolate are not so healthy. Grapes

Grapes contain high levels of Resveratrol, which must be on the list of anyone interested in remaining youthful. Not only can grapes slow down the natural aging process, but they can also repair damage done to the skin by too much exposure to the sun.

Nuts

Like olive oil, nuts contain a number of beneficial components. In places where nuts combine a high proportion of the diet, people generally live longer. Nuts contain a number of vitamins and antioxidants, which are vital when it comes to anti-aging.

Blueberries

Blueberries have been shown to have many beneficial properties. Studies in rats show that blueberries can even increase life expectancy. Blueberries and other berries contain certain compounds that have anti-inflammatory properties and can reduce oxidative damage. In terms of anti-aging, this can help to reduce cognitive decline and improve memory abilities.

• Thread facelift treatment

Thread facelift treatment offers a good alternative to the surgical facelift. It lifts the sagging loose skin while preserving the natural facial contours. It gives the natural and subtle appearance. The procedure of thread facelift makes use of biodegradable and absorbable threads which are often used as surgical sutures in major surgeries worldwide. It is a minimally invasive procedure in which the threads are inserted into the skin using extra fine needles. The threads are lifted and tighten the sagging and loose skin. It gives instant results with little downtime and few side effects. The results of thread facelift continue to improve over the passage of time, as the threads get absorbed into the skin, stimulating natural production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. The procedure leaves no scars and the results last for up to 3 years.

To undertake the non-surgical facelift treatment you should approach a reputed aesthetic clinic with professional and experienced cosmetic practicers and surgeons.

The Aging Process: Let’s Slow It Down

There are various things you can do to slow the aging process down, and in some cases, even reverse it. As much as the body changes, your diet, activity level, and intellectual pursuits can have a basic effect on how “old” you get.

Limited Numbers

Use it or lose it is the general rule when it comes to the human body, and the brain is no exception. At a certain point, we can no longer produce new neurons (brain cells), and if we do not consistently use the ones we have, they will essentially atrophy. We lose the cells we do not use. As we get older, and can no longer produce new neurons, we create more connections between existing ones. We can also create new connections between existing neurons, or reinforce existing connections.

It's like looking at a map of new hiking trails. There's a web of them, with some connecting and others not, spread out all over the mountains. As the years go by, hikers tend to use certain trails more than others, so these become more defined, with the hikers sometimes making smaller trails connecting the large ones. The original trails used less often (or not at all) slowly get overtaken by the trees and bushes until they are no longer usable.

Efficiency Expert

Your brain is precisely that: an efficiency expert. Having a multitude of unused neurons serves no purpose. Everything from the connections you build to the disappearance of unused neurons is your brain's way of becoming more efficient. To continue the hiking trail analogy, why start a new trail when another already exists? This is also why the idiom, “Can not teach an old dog new tricks” exists … there's a reason why, stereotypically, people become more set in their ways, habits, and routines as they get older, especially in terms of ways of thinking.

Change occurs when we are introduced to something new, and then a process occurs by which we continue as we have, or we learn something new.

What You Can Do

How do we protect our brains from the effects of aging? We learn. The more we learn, the more gracefully our brain will age. This is especially true for memory. Read, play chess, learn to play an instrument or speak a new language, teach your kids and grandkids, take a different route home one day, and try new things. Your brain will thank you.

How To Slow Down, Stop Running Around, And Hopefully Live Longer

Groucho Marx reckoned that growing old is something you do if you're lucky. Well, one way to increase your luck is to slow down and stop rushing around like that chook you've heard about.

Two recent events helped to drive home to me the importance of slowing down.

The first event occurred when a tradesman undertook to service a piece of equipment for me. Several weeks passed before I heard from him when he finally got around to telling me that he was 'snowed under' and I should get someone else to do the job.

His decision to slow down was a pain in the youknowwhere, but, quite, it was his call.

The other event involved a get together with the Dalai Lama. His Holiness arrived late for a meeting: he was unconcerned. In fact, he did not consider it necessary to apologize for his lateness. While he considered punctuality important, there are times in everyone's life, he claimed, when everyday life intervenes.

While both of these are greatly differenting events, the key message was very similar – slow down, stop rushing around, and (hopefully) live longer. The tradesman who probably left it a bit late to 'pull the plug' is now alive to benefit from his decision. The Dalai Lama knew also that the meeting was not going to start without him, so why rush?

Even though death does not discriminate, it seems that, as we age, we seem to be reminded more often of our own mortality – going to more funerals, for example. In fact, a take-home message from your next funeral could be to make the most of every moment – to slow down and live.

Even if arriving on time for meetings or getting a tradesman to do as he says may no longer be part of your current lifestyle, keep in mind 'that deciding not to do anything qualifies as a decision. And the life-long benefits to you can be impressive. Blaise Pascal may have got it right: 'All man's miseries come from not being able to sit alone in a room'.

Secrets That Make Retinol Serum Effective for Skin Care Revealed

Most anti-aging products available in the market today contain retinol because it is considered as one of the best ingredients for reducing wrinkles, fine lines and other visible signs of aging.

The purest form of vitamin A, retinol is a potent antioxidant that works to protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals, substances that contribute to skin aging such pollution, sun damage and other environmental stressors.

Not only that, retinol also helps generate cell growth and repair damaged cells. The result is younger looking skin, smooth, soft and free from wrinkles and fine lines.

Retinol or vitamin A is abundant in some fruits and vegetables, particularly carrots and sweet potatoes. But dermatologists say you can really feel and see its effect if applied directly on the skin.

If you use retinol on your skin, you have less chance of getting acne and pimples because this special vitamin works to decrease the size of your skin's pores, which makes it harder for the pores to get clogged.

Also, retinol works to reduce the activity of the skin's natural oil called sebum, resulting to less acne.

What makes retinol very effective is the size of its molecules. These molecules are the only substances that are very small that they are able to penetrate the outer layers of the skin so they can easily go down deep into the lower layers of the skin.

Most anti-aging products sold in the market that contain retinol comes in the form of either a serum or cream and in a variety of strengths and consistencies. So how would you know if you are using the right retinol product for your type of skin?

Cosmetic dermatologist Dr Debra Wattenberg says the kind of retinol product that you have to buy largely depends on your type of skin.

To prevent any confusion, Dr. Wattenberg shares this simple equation: “serum for oily skin and cream for dry skin.” So this should answer any question and confusion you have on your mind. You just need to assess the type of skin you have so you would know if you need to buy a serum or a cream.

In particular, retinol serum is recommended for those who have oily skin or those who are prone to develop acne because it is water-based and does not leave a sticky feeling or residue. Creams are recommended for dry skin because this contains moisturizing ingredients such as mineral oil, which may tend to clog the pores.

The power of retinol serum can not be surpassed because based on research, it is very effective in erasing wrinkles, fine line, laugh lines and all visible signs of aging. It is even called as the “workhorse” of all anti-aging regimen.

As a whole, retinol serum helps generate new skin cells, results further loss of collagen, erases wrinkles and fine lines, improves the texture of your skin, and makes the skin fresh and youngger looking. There is nothing that retinol serum can not do on your skin.

Little Known Secrets About Anti-Aging Serum

Aging is a natural process that all people have to go through, whether they like it or not. It is a normal stage where some functions of the body's parts will diminish or lessen.

Using the eyes, you can easily tell if an individual is already old or not by just looking at his or her skin. When you see some signs of wrinkles in the forehead and in the hands, you can guess the age of the person.

However, not all signs of aging that you see on the skin correctly correspond to the person's biological age because there are people who already have wrinkles even if they are still in their late 20's or early '30s. This can be due to genes or the kind of lifestyle they have. Sleeping late too often can cause stress and can affect the overall health state of a person. Much more if he is a heavy smoker or drinker.

Some people do not want to make a big deal on their looks, even if they already look much older than their age. But those who value their health more than anything else will do everything just to maintain the healthy state of their skin.

Although aging is a normal process that can not be prevented, there are many ways that we can do to at least “delay” it, or prevent its signs from showing up.

One of these ways is to use an anti-aging serum.

Among all the skin care and beauty products sold in the market today, anti-aging serums sell best. And why not? It is one of the keys to getting younger looking, smooth, soft and radiant skin.

When looking for the best anti-aging serums, make sure you see the following ingredients in their labels: retinol, hydroquinone, sunscreen and antioxidants.

Retinol, a derivative of vitamin A, is one of the best anti-aging ingredients available today. It works to erase wrinkles and fine lines, skin sagging and sun spots caused by excessive exposure to the sun.

Retinol helps speed up the turnover of cells and clears away the dead ones. It also helps boost the production of collagen, a protein that contains the elasticity, suppleness and firmness of the skin. The level of collagen in the body decrees with age, which will result in the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, laugh lines and skin sagging. Retinol does this because it can penetrate the deepest layer of the skin. There is just one point to remember in retinol – it works best in the dark so you have to apply it at night.

Hydroquinone is the best bleaching agent. It works to even out sun spots and lighten blemishes and hyperpigmentation while sunscreen protects the skin from sun damage and prevats premature sagging and wrinkling of the skin.

Dermatologists say sunscreen is the best way to prevent skin aging. For best results, use a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.

Vitamin C and green tea are antioxidants that can help prevent the appearance of wrinkles and protect the skin against damage caused by free radicals.

Antioxidants also help stimulate the production of collagen.

These ingredients make up a good and effective anti-aging serum so make sure you have all these in your anti-aging product.
